24 Hour Crisis Line: 252-338-3011 or click here to Webchat

If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. We cannot contact emergency services through this service.

At this time, Albemarle Hopeline's webchat is operating Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, except on state holidays. If you need our assistance outside of these hours, it is best to call our 24 Hour Crisis Line at 252-338-3011.

Important Information:

  • If you have any reason to believe that your device is being monitored or compromised in any way, it may be safer to call the crisis line.
  • Conversations are not saved, and information is kept confidential. For more information on security, scroll to the end of the page.
  • Please be sure that you are safe to begin a webchat conversation, and do not hesitate to use the 'Quick Escape' button in the top right corner to take you to a neutral page if needed.
  • Be aware that if you begin a conversation, and then need to leave and come back, it may be a different Hopeline advocate chatting with you.

Further Information

Albemarle Hopeline's webchat service is end-to-end encrypted, which means that only you and the advocate you are chatting with can read the conversation. The contents of the messages do not get saved anywhere on your computer. However, there is no technology that exists that can keep a device secure if there is already spyware or a virus on that device. If you believe your device to be compromised in any way, it is better to call our crisis line.

Because Hopeline does not save previous messages, if you exit the chat and return later, you may need to quickly re-introduce yourself or you may be speaking to a different advocate. We take your privacy and confidentiality seriously, but it creates an extra step or two.
